Therapy offers you the opportunity to talk about what you may not be able to share elsewhere. I have seen repeatedly that once people have a safe confidential space to put their experience into words, they are able to manage and deal with how they feel more effectively. They become more emotionally resilient and find new options in relation to old behaviours. Most pressing issues represent a struggle with underlying historical issues and conflicts - self-awareness provides the opportunity to move away from the resulting patterns and repetitions. People are extremely varied in what troubles them and what makes them happier. I believe that anyone can benefit from discussing what is meaningful to them and what they want from their life. I've worked with people from all walks of life, and I'm sensitive to the wide variety of values and lifestyles that people pursue in contemporary society. There will be an initial consultation session which gives us the space to see if we can work together. I consider it is important for you to feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. We can discuss how therapy works, answer any questions you may have and in turn I will also gather some background information about you. We will then meet once a week for our agreed length of time. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
When combined with cognitive behaviour therapy this is highly effective in the treatment of a wide range of issues, including addictions, anger management, phobias (fear of flying, spiders, etc), panic, blushing, sports performance, muscle training, sexual dysfunction, insomnia, weight control, stress management, exam revision, writer’s block and more. I also offer clinical hypnotherapy for clients of a spiritual nature wishing to explore healing through previous lives.
